Zagadnienie stateczności ortotropowej powłoki stożkowej poddanej

This paper is devoted to the solution of the stability problem of an orthotropic shell with simply supported edges, subjected to torsion. The problem is solved by the energy method. The obtained solution is valid for conical shells of moderate apex angle. The critical torque is determined, and the number of waves arising on the circumference is expressed
by very simple formulae. It is shown that for the shells with a small apex angle the derived formulae give better results for practice than the formulae obtained by H.M. Mushtari for isotropic shells.
