Author's results are considered referring to the stress concentration in a nonhomogeneous medium. The solutions are discussed to elastic and elasto-plastic problems in the case of a thick-walled cylinder and a sphere with various laws of nonhomogeneity. We also envisage the numerical solution the stress concentration problem in the neighbourhood of an underground spherical, cavity taking into account the forses of gravity and asymmetry of an extermal load.
