Stateczność powłoki cylindrycznej z obwodowym załomem przy ściskaniu osiowym

The paper concerns the effect of a circumferential notch at the surface of the axially compressed cylindrical shell on its stability. Such a notch may be a result of welding of two cylindrical pipes. The problem is solved by means of the Ritz method. The effect of the value of the notch angle on the critical force and postbuckling behaviour is examined.
