The method of characteristics is applied to the problem of twodimensional plastic flow of a non-homogeneous plastic body to present the solutions of the cup ironing process with heating and local cooling. The slip-lines networks and hodographys are obtained for dies of rectilinear and curvilinear profiles. The stresses are determined, at a constant temperature differences in the material, at various strain stages and die profiles.
