The results of investigations are given concerning the dynamic relaxation of cylindrical specimens made of some kinds of vulcanized rubber compounds and applied in the motor industry. The absolute modulus of elasticity in shear has been determined as well as the dynamic storage modulus and the dynamic loss modulus. Description of the apparatus is given and the method of measuring the phase angle displacement between the stresses and strains (loss angle) is described; to that end a control impulse coming from a contactrone short-circuited by two rotating magnets is used.
